Jackie believes that liberation begins in the body and expands outwards. She specializes in trauma-informed and Meridian yoga techniques, prioritizing nervous system regulation, safe embodiment and awareness practices, and resourcing people to help themselves and one another. She studied human anatomy, Ashtanga, Hatha, and Katonah, and has studied extensively with Dr. Vaughan and the Science of Self yoga school.
Dr. Vaughan’s Meridian yoga has transformed her teaching and personal practice, as it provides a powerful framework for understanding one’s experience in their bodies, as it relates to their emotions. Amongst the suffering we experience individually and collectively, she understands that there is deep innate healing potential that exists within each of our bodies: Meridian yoga helps us to recognize and access this, and experience radical autonomous self-transformation and healing.
Jackie studied human rights for a decade and completed her Masters in Genocide Studies at Columbia. from her studies and nonprofit work, she began to re-conceptualize her understanding of suffering, and the work we can do to help alleviate it. She now understands liberation to start within the individual body and expand outwards: when a person heals from within, it creates a ripple effect where they can be better for those around them, and help heal the world. She prioritizes sharing accessible practices that help resource people to help themselves and one another.
Jackie offers free and donation-based NADA ear acupuncture in the city. She is a student of Chinese Medicine and teaches freediving. In her free time she enjoys dancing and being with nature. :)
