Marilyn Haifa began her daily yoga practice in February 2010. She knew immediately upon stepping on the mat in that first hot room, that her life would forever be changed. Simply put, her open heart and spirit finally found the ground. She very quickly began managing her first yoga school in San Diego, learning daily from her wonderful teachers more about the practice and the business of yoga. Even when she moved to areas that did not have a studio, she set up a diligent home practice that allowed for her continued expansion, always with the calling of teacher training in her mind. She earned her YogaBarre certification in February 2016, in Beverly Hills with Nancy Norby. In June 2018 she studied with Ida Ripley and became certified to teach I.R.I.S. (Ida Ripley’s Intermediate Series). And finally in January 2019 after years of hard work, study, and management, she was the assistant and student of a 200hr training at Village Yoga in Santa Cruz, qualifying her to teach Bikram, Fusion, Yin, Restorative, Pranayama, and Chanting. For the next few years her self-study took her down the path of incorporating meridian information and different pranayama techniques in her yin class and private sessions. Serendipitously, after traveling the country for several months and nursing an injury in 2022, Marilyn found Rose Erin and SOS, and knew right away that the advanced training was perfectly aligned with the continued education she desired. The training gave her a more solid foundation, confidence and additional healing tools, such as deeper awareness of the meridian pathways and acupressure points, to incorporate as a teacher and student. She has designed and held several workshops and worked as an assistant for retreats and is very excited to continue to learn from Rose and the SOS team and become a better teacher with more offerings to help people. As a teacher, Marilyn’s greatest joy is helping to guide students deeper within themselves. Her uplifting nature and absolute love and passion for the yogic path can inspire great transformation in the hearts of those she meets.
