What is Meridian Yoga Therapy (MYT)?
Meridian Yoga Therapy is a therapeutic approach to yoga that integrates gentle yet effective breathing techniques, yoga postures, and acupressure-based self-treatment. Students are guided to tune inward—observing both physical and emotional sensations—with specific affirmations accompanying each exercise set to foster a sense of safety and self-acceptance.
MYT Level 1 and 2 Certifications:
These trainings integrate traditional yoga practices with self and partner acupressure techniques, offering a deeply embodied experience of the energy body, the 12 meridians, and the 5 elements. By combining movement with targeted acupressure, participants gain a clear and practical understanding of meridian theory in a format that is accessible and engaging. This approach demystifies the complexity of the meridian system, making it an ideal learning path for personal growth or for professionals seeking to enhance their skills as yoga teachers or therapists. The hands-on, relational nature of the training fosters not only knowledge but also experiential insight, supporting the holistic integration of these ancient wisdoms into modern practice.
The Meridian Yoga Therapy (MYT) sequence is a thoughtfully designed practice accessible to all levels. It can be easily adapted for a wide range of populations, including seniors and individuals managing chronic pain, arthritis, anxiety, addiction, osteoporosis, and various mental health and autoimmune conditions.
MYT Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Certification:
In this training, you will learn to teach both the MYT yoga and pranayama sequences. You’ll also gain insight into the physiological underpinnings of many prevalent conditions—such as back pain, cardiovascular and metabolic disorders, hypertension, eating disorders, menopause, aging, and more. We’ll examine modern research on the therapeutic effects of yoga and explore how to modify the MYT sequence to suit each condition. Students are encouraged to work with special populations who can benefit significantly from this practice. The course includes a comprehensive manual filled with illustrations and photographs, designed specifically to support your learning.
MYT Level 2 Training
“I’ve found myself telling friends/family that my relationship to the pain in my chest has transformed with my MYT prescription. Now, in listening to your lecture, I’m hearing you say that that’s the goal and am feeling lots of gratitude & inspiration!! ”
Why Meridian Yoga Therapy? In modern times, much of our physical pain stems from unresolved emotional and mental tension. Ancient systems like Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine offer sophisticated maps of the body, mind, and spirit—an integrated anatomy that honors both the physical and emotional dimensions of human experience.
Even in today’s culture, the heart is recognized not just as a vital organ but as a symbol of love, compassion, and spiritual connection. The techniques developed within these ancient systems serve as both physical medicine and tools for inner transformation.
Meridian Yoga Therapy (MYT) is a contemporary synthesis of these time-tested traditions. Like yoga asana, MYT works by addressing the deep interconnection between the physical body, emotional experience, and spiritual well-being. Through physical methods, MYT supports the free flow of energy through the body’s subtle channels, helping to relieve muscle tension, joint pain, headaches, digestive issues, anxiety, depression, and more.
MYT is a healing modality that can be practiced on oneself or shared with others. Rooted in the eight-limbed path of yoga and guided by the meridian system of Traditional Chinese Medicine, MYT techniques can be seamlessly incorporated into yoga classes or used as a stand-alone practice.
At the heart of this work is the belief that in serving others, we also heal ourselves.

“I loved my experience with private sessions. Learning from different perspectives and gaining confidence to be able to give a private session to one of my favorite teachers was an incredible experience. This training made me find my voice and helped to realize when the heart is pure and the intention is clear, helping others also helps you. Listening is the most important part and it can help people more than we can ever imagine.
The questions give a wonderful depth when answered with lots of details about the person’s history and their goals they would love to achieve. It gives a broad perspective on what they experienced, emotional and physical patterns in life. After privates, everything clicked in my mind much better and summed up beautifully about this amazing training. I can’t recommend this training enough. It changed my life!”
